Prudential Steamboat Realty Named Business of the Year

Prudential Steamboat Realty was named Business of the Year during the annual Chamber Navigator Awards Presentation on October 27th. The ceremony was held in conjunction with the Centennial Celebration for the Steamboat Springs Chamber Resort Association at Sidney Peak Ranch.
The Navigator Awards are intended to not only recognize exceptional business practices, but also to honor businesses that demonstrate leadership in the community.

Latest Update on the Victoria at Steamboat

The Victoria is already making its mark in downtown Steamboat.

Our biggest accomplishment to date is that we are well above ground! We are thrilled with our progress and are right on schedule for our Spring delivery in 2008. The underground parking garage is complete, concrete is finished to the top level and the main structure completion date is set for three weeks. Everything is looking up!

29% of our commercial space is already under contract with one of the businesses slated to move in by early 2008. A much anticipated fine dining, upscale restaurant sets the bar for the commercial space in The Victoria.

Now that construction is well under way interest in commercial and residential space has increased substantially. Our goal is that the first floor business space will be completed by late fall and ready for tenant finishes and interior improvements.

Steamboat Designated Bicycle Friendly Community

The League of American Bicyclists is awarding Steamboat Springs a prestigious silver-level Bicycle Friendly Community designation. The League has now honored 70 communities across the nation with the award. Steamboat Springs, Colo. has a strongly integrated off- and on-road bicycling system, featuring some of the best single-track in the country.

The Bicycle Friendly Community (BFC) award recognizes Steamboat Spring's commitment to improving conditions for bicycling and its practice of making focused investment in bicycling programs and facilities. The BFC judges were particularly imressed with Steamboat's promotion of cycling during an event-filled summer and the community's commitment to providing facilities which support cycling for commuters and students.

Steamboat Springs was granted the silver-level designation following a detailed audit of the city's efforts to provide safe accommodation and facilities for bicyclists and to encourage residents to bike for transportation and recreation.

New Gondola Planned for 2009!

Wildhorse Meadows has moved forward on the final details of planning a gondola from their multi-phase development to the ski area base. The gondola will carry passengers from the new Trailhead Lodge to an upper terminal near the ski area’s gondola building. Construction on the new gondola will need to run in conjunction with the progress of One Steamboat Place, as the landing terminal will be located in the public plaza, a part of their project.

Construction on the Wildhorse gondola will begin next summer, but it will not operate to the public until the beginning of the 2009–10 ski season. Wildhorse Meadows has entered into an agreement with Leitner-Poma to engineer the gondola.
