John and Wanda have been coming to Steamboat since 1976 and moved here permanently in 2002 with their labrador, Buck, and four horses, Chief, Bayley, Sundance, and Spark, after building their new home at Priest Creek Ranch. They formerly owned the largest Real Estate and Insurance Agency in North Central Iowa, which they sold in 2001. After receiving a Business Degree in Finance from the University of Iowa in 1968, John started his career in Real Estate and soon became a respected multi-million dollar producer while becoming active and holding office in the Local, State and National Association of Realtors. John served as Vice President, Director, and for 12 years Chairman of the Iowa Association of Realtors Legislative and Governmental Affairs Committee and in 1996 was awarded IOWA REALTOR OF THE YEAR. John was one of the first members of CRB (Certified Real Estate Broker) and CRS (Certified Residential Specialist) in the State of Iowa. Wanda became active in the Real Estate business in 1988 while still being involved as a mom. Wanda and John are so proud of their 6 children, 4 in Waterloo, Iowa, and 2 in Denver, Colorado, all of whom are leading their own personal and professional lives. They have also been blessed with 6 grandchildren. John and Wanda are very qualified in Residential and Resort, Lots and Development, Commercial-Investment, and IRC 1031 Exchanges including: Sole Entity, Sophisticated Sole Purpose and Tenant in Common (TIC).
